Privacy Policy Omniyou & Omnigen
When you use our services, we need some information from you in order to be able to provide you with our products. We respect your privacy and ensure that all your personal data is treated confidentially. This Privacy Policy explains which data we collect, for what purposes we collect this data, how we get this data, how you can adjust it and what your rights are.

All data that Omniyou collects will be used by Omnigen exclusively for the purpose for which this data was provided and this data is only collected after permission from the visitor. This permission may have been given for the delivery of your order to your postal address or to be able to send your personal report by providing access to the user portal using the supplied email address. Your data will only be provided to third parties if this is necessary to enable the agreed services. It is also possible that the law/regulations oblige us to do so or because you have given permission for this yourself. The information you provide to Omnigen will be treated with the greatest possible care at all times.

Our services consist of four parts, namely; the orderthe samplethe genetic profile and the activation of the profile. Below we explain which data we collect from you, for what purposes we process it and how you can make use of your privacy rights.

Your DNA is regarded as special personal data, especially because it contains biomedical information. but certainly, because the DNA is really personal information and we also treat your data as such, not only because the legislation requires us to do so, but also because we respect your privacy.

The Order
You order an analysis of your DNA and a corresponding report from us.
For this order we need the following information from you:

Address Postal address for delivery of the ordered ‘Sample Kit’ to the address specified by you. We will remove this address after your genetic profile is ready.
Contact details Email address for updates about the delivery of your order.
Optional: telephone number, so that you can be called by the delivery person!

Consent/Access/Deletion:
On request, this data can be deleted from our systems. Please get in touch with us via if you wish to do so.

The Sample
The DNA samples are analysed within the Netherlands in an academic laboratory by a certified partner.

The Genetic Profile
To be able to consult the report that accompanies the sample kit, we ask you to create an account in our ‘portal’ via portal.omniyou.nl . There we ask you to share the information below to complete your profile.

Account details Your email address, username and password to use creating the portal.
Phenotypes This is in addition to things that we cannot deduce directly from your DNA sample. It concerns gender, age and weight, height and exertion level.

Account details Your email address and username to use the portal.

Permission/Access/Deletion:
All data we analyse can be seen in your personal report using the portal. Because of the large number of variants that are analysed by the laboratory, we only provide information on a select subset. The complete dataset is called the raw data. It is possible to request this dataset by sending an email to which includes your barcode. If desired, all other data that we use to provide your report can also be requested.

Opt-in/Deactivation:
It is possible to delete your data and account by sending an email to .

The Activation Of The Profile
An analysis and the accompanying report are the basis of our services. We have some additional products and partners we offer to get even more value out of your DNA profile. For this, we may need to share a subset of the genetic data and some profile information with one of our partners. We will never do this if we have not received your permission to do so.

Consent / Access / Deletion
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have reported our registration of personal data to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. The data Omnigen collects is:

Data Purpose
Surname, first name, salutation For the correct salutation in the newsletter and other (digital) communication, for example about orders, participation in contests or other promotions.
Address & zip code For delivery to the correct address for online orders and/or store orders.
Telephone number For any telephone communication or confirmations for online orders.
Gender, age & weight For calculations in the report
Email address As a unique username for an account, sending newsletters or other offers (if you have registered for this), confirming (online) orders, participating in contests or promotions and for sending invitations to participate in market research.
Password For creating and securing your account.
IP address To prevent and combat fraud and other criminal behavior and to identify the user.

Cookies
In order to optimize our services and website and to inform you specifically about interesting offers or articles, so-called cookies are placed on your computer via our site. A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your computer when you visit a site. With the help of the cookies we can create a user profile of you and ensure that when you visit our site you do not repeatedly receive or have to enter the same information and that you can be shown personalized content. The domain names of the web servers that transmit the cookies are omniyou.nl and portal.omniyou.nl. Most browsers can be set to refuse cookies or to notify you when you receive a cookie. On the website where we sell our DNA kits, we may place tracking cookies or other tracking technologies after obtaining user permission. We use these tracking technologies for the following purposes:

  • Personal ads: We use your information to display personalised content and ads. These can be altered to your preferences, locations and more.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics in order to understand how our visitors use the website and understand how we can further improve it.
  • Analysing the effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns: We can use your information to make our campaigns relevant to our end users.

How does Omnigen secure information collected about me?
Omnigen maintains physical, electronic and legal controls to maintain confidentiality of your personal information by:

* Securing all financial transactions made through this website with HTTPS encryption;
* Providing various other technical security methods to protect collected data such as utilising encryption;
* Only to provide access to your personal information to employees who need access to the data due to their position (principle of least privilege);
* Only to cooperate with third parties who guarantee that they adequately protect all their computer hardware and processes and who guarantee that your data is only used for the purposes for which you have provided your data to Omnigen;
* Periodically have independent security audits performed on our online environments so that any risks are identified in a timely manner and can be mitigated. KPN ICT & Security has confirmed that Omnigen can guarantee privacy.

What choices do I have regarding the collection of my personal information by Omniyou & Omnigen?
You can choose to:

* update or correct your personal information;
* unsubscribe from receiving emails on your email address;
* disable your account to prevent future purchases through your account;
* disable cookies when visiting omnigen.nl;
* have your profile deleted by Omnigen.

Log in to the portal via https://portal.omniyou.nl/login and adjust the data you want to update or correct.

Unsubscribe from emails you receive from Omnigen:
Go to the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email and unsubscribe, or contact us at the address below.
